The full process

Seven steps. One audit trail.

Each step produces an artifact that lives in your audit log. Nothing closes on a handshake.

1

You · in the portal

You book a pickup

Through the Mango portal. Single or recurring. Choose date, equipment types, and destruction preference (certified wipe or physical shred). Set per-data-class rules once and they apply forever.

2

Mango · dispatch

Mango assigns a certified provider

From our vetted nationwide network. The provider holds current certification for the work your job requires — verified before they handle a single device. Their credentials are matched against your destruction policy before dispatch.

Cert match Verified before dispatch
3

On-site

Pickup is performed

The provider arrives on schedule with 1 Smarthands staff-hour included. A manifest is created at pickup — this becomes the source of truth for the job. Chain of custody opens here.

4

Provider facility

Processing and certified destruction

Equipment is processed at the provider's facility. Data destruction is performed to your specified method — NIST 800-88 wipe or NAID AAA physical shred. Every device is logged.

Provider · in the portal

Documentation submitted to Mango

The provider submits a weight manifest, equipment spreadsheet, and certificate of data destruction through the Mango provider portal — in a structured format we can validate.

6

Mango · validation

Mango validates and closes the job

Our ingestion agent validates the submission against the job scope — cert matches, asset counts, weight totals, signed handoffs. If it passes, the job closes automatically and your compliance report is generated. If it fails, the provider is notified and the job stays open.

You · in the portal

You receive your compliance report

Certificate of data destruction, chain of custody record, weight manifest, and FMV credit (if applicable) — all delivered to your Mango portal. Audit-ready in one click.

SLA accountability

A job doesn't close on a handshake.

Jobs close when documentation passes Mango's validation — not when the provider says it's done. This is what makes Mango different from going direct to a vendor and hoping for the best.

  • 1
    Documented SLA, enforced by Mango

Providers commit to pickup windows, documentation submission timelines, and Mango's data format requirements. We hold the contract — not you.

  • 2
    Auto-validation against job scope

Our ingestion agent checks cert match, asset counts, weight totals, signed handoffs. Anomalies hold the job open and notify the provider.

  • 3
    Performance tracked across the network

Providers with repeated documentation failures lose dispatch priority. The network self-corrects — you never see it.

Destruction options

Two methods. Both certified.

You choose the method at booking — or set it once as a default per data class. Our provider network is certified for both.

Certified Data Wipe

METHOD · NIST 800-88 compliant

Devices are wiped to NIST 800-88 standards and may re-enter the resale market. The most efficient method when equipment still has fair market value.
